A Heritage City’s Modern Green Milestone

In Mysore — known for its heritage buildings and eco-tourism focus — Venus Gas Services set out to prove that even a customer-facing utility business can lead in sustainability. The goal was to build a modern, comfortable gas distribution center that dramatically lowered energy demand and carbon footprint — without compromising customer experience.

This vision led to the creation of India’s first Green Indane Distributor Showroom, inaugurated by Indian Oil Corporation’s Executive Director (LPG), who recognized it as a model for all Indane agencies nationwide.

Green Design Interventions

Spread over three floors (totaling ~1,982 sq ft), the Venus Gas Services building integrates.

  • Enviro Controller air conditioning system — uses just 1/4th the power of conventional systems
  • LED-based lighting throughout — reducing lighting load by over 70%
  • Standby gas generator — ensures uninterrupted service during power outages
  • Rainwater harvesting system — meeting ~20% of water demand
  • Efficient space utilization: reception, customer service center, operations floor, conference hall, and staff amenities

  • Reduced overall power consumption by over 60%
